Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and ResumesKey, a KeyInventions product (“ResumesKey,” “we,” “us”). They govern your use of the ResumesKey websites, web app, and mobile apps (together, the “Service”).
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account, downloading the app, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you accept these Terms on its behalf.
2. Description of service
ResumesKey helps you build, score, and tailor resumes and cover letters, track job applications, and prepare for interviews, including with AI-assisted features. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
3. User accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: break the law or infringe others’ rights; upload false, harmful, or others’ personal data without permission; attempt to access, scrape, reverse-engineer, overload, or disrupt the Service; resell or redistribute the Service; or misuse AI features to generate deceptive or unlawful content. We may suspend accounts that violate these rules.
5. User content
You own the content you create or upload (your resumes, cover letters, profile details, and any photos) (“User Content”). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, and display your User Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you — for example, to store your documents, generate and score content, and produce exports. You are responsible for your User Content and confirm you have the rights to it.
6. Subscriptions and billing
ResumesKey offers free features and optional paid plans and one-time purchases. Subscriptions are auto-renewing: unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, they renew automatically and your payment method is charged the then-current price.
Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are billed by, and managed in, your Apple or Google account. Cancel or manage renewals there (iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; Android: Play Store → Subscriptions). Web purchases are managed on your Account page. Refunds are handled under the policy of the platform where you bought the subscription (Apple, Google, or our web processor) and otherwise are non-refundable except where required by law.
7. Intellectual property
The Service — including our software, templates, designs, branding, and content (but excluding your User Content) — is owned by ResumesKey and KeyInventions and protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal or internal business use under these Terms. You retain all rights to your own User Content.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. AI-generated content (including resume suggestions, scores, and interview answers) may be inaccurate and is not legal, career, or professional advice — review everything before you rely on it. We do not guarantee interviews, job offers, or any specific outcome.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ResumesKey and KeyInventions will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $50.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ResumesKey, KeyInventions, and our affiliates from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your User Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see our account deletion page). We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including content licenses you granted, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in New York for any dispute not subject to arbitration or small-claims resolution.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in-app or by email and update the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
